Getting Your Assets Ready For Fall

The leaves on the trees are all changing colors and there’s a crisp chill in the air everywhere you go. It must mean that fall is coming, and it’s coming sooner than you think. You’ve probably already gotten your sweaters out and are thinking about what your favorite food manufacturers are going to pumpkin spiceify this time around, but we wonder if you’ve given any thought to how the changing seasons are going to change the assets on your website. We’ve got a couple of great ideas we’d love to share with you to help you bring your website into the festivities of fall.

Color Your World Brown and Orange

The quickest way to get your website into the fall festivities is to change up the color palette in images on your website. The colors associated with the changing leaves—most notably red, yellow, orange, and brown—are a great way to get your business or blog in a festive mood. You can be as subtle as a slight color grading tweak when putting up new images on your social media account or as all-out awesome as changing your logo and email templates for a uniquely branded bonanza. 

There are tons of ways to get creative with this theme. For instance, color coding your landing pages based on the fall foliage is an excellent way to get in the mood and show a more vibrant side of your business or blog to your customers or readership. Above all else, we recommend that you keep things relatively simple. A few appropriate colors showcases the mood you want to capture perfectly, while too many colors or too busy a design will give your audience too much information at once.

What Does a Picture Say?

Another valuable tool in your arsenal when trying to make a fall-themed look on your website is the use of photography. Any good campaign, whether it be a blog or a social media campaign or anything where you’re trying to communicate something to an audience through a visual medium, uses pictures to its advantage. There are many ways to take this facet of your visual storytelling because of the massive amount of stock photos that you can find on the internet.

This is another great way to get creative! The possibilities are endless when adding photos to your social media campaign or next email blast. There are a bunch of classic methods to add some fall flair to your visual campaign. For instance, you can’t go wrong with incorporating pictures of fall foliage from scenic parts of the world. There’s also a lot of value in Halloween-related imagery, from pumpkins to cobwebs. This of course comes with the caveat that after October 31, everyone will have switched to Christmas. 

However, you have some more subtle options at your disposal as well. For instance, pictures of people drinking something warm while dressed in a sweater gives the audience the gist without seeming too obvious. No matter which way you decide to take it, including pictures with your copy is a great way to give the audience a more complete package when trying to appeal to them.

We hope we’ve given you something interesting to think about in between raking the lawn. Changing with the seasons is a great way to show your customers or users that you are engaged with your site and know how to keep things creative. By forging this connection with your audience, you are giving them all the more reason to stick with your site and patronize it well into the future.
